What We're Reading: Travel and Hospitality Leaders Share Their Favorite Books
Women Leading Travel & Hospitality members often share book recommendations in peer groups, on panels and during Roundtable networking sessions. When spotlighting these powerhouse women, we like to ask them, "What is the best book you've read recently?" Here are some responses from the past few months to serve as inspiration for your own next read.
- I just finished “My Brilliant Friend,” by Elena Ferrante, and loved every second of it.
--Kristina Boyce, senior vice president of operations, Ensemble Travel. - I just finished “Unreasonable Hospitality” by Will Guidara and pretty much underlined something on every page. His approach to hospitality is inspiring, especially his emphasis on creating a great culture for your team.
--Allie Gill, director of marketing for Uncommon Hospitality - “Where the Crawdads Sing” by Delia Owens.
--Colleen Phelan, vice president of brand strategy and customer experience, Delta Vacations. - While I can’t choose just one, I’ve recently been reading more autobiographies. It is so interesting to get a glimpse inside the mind of a person and learn what makes them successful.
--Robin Mead, director of operations analytics, Delta Air Lines - “Rise: My Story” by Lindsey Vonn.
--MacKenzie DeVito, CEO and founder, No Bones Beach Club - “The Day That Changed Everything.“
--Millie Caballero, director of market strategy, Latin America, Priceline - I’ve been on the road lately so have been caught up in quick beach reads (hello Nora Roberts and Barbara Freethy!) but the last book that stands out is “All the Light We Cannot See” and can’t wait to watch the Netflix adaptation this fall.
--Jennifer Dzialo, senior vice president of supplier relations, Ensemble - “Going There” by Katie Couric.
--Eileen Ford, sales director, Haines Hotel Services Group
